- Interchange (2) depicts Africans exchanging knowledge of arts and sciences in antiquity. He shows African, European, and Eastern Mediterranean people in dialogue with icons from their respective cultures. He intentionally places the African figures’ heads higher, signifying their role as generators and instructors of knowledge.
